Establishing Portugal became a particularly popular route when Portugal gained its independence in the 12th century because of its traditional path where Queen Isabel traveled from Portugal.
The trail officially begins in the city of Lisbon and crosses the central and northern regions of Portugal, passes into Spain through the city of Toui and ends at the magnificent cathedral in Santiago de Compostela, in northwestern Spain. Our route starts in the town of Toui, which is located on the border of Portugal Spain and ends in the city of Santiago de Compostela. It traverses the last 114 miles of the Portuguese Central Road which is now considered the second largest tourist route and its importance in the Camino de Santiago trail system and also the most fascinating and rich in both architecture and culture.
As we walk through the beautiful landscape that winds through forests and ancient villages, we can enjoy the local food and the fine wine that the region has to offer. The Portuguese way offers a combination of both physical and mental challenge, leading to contemplation and a journey through the soul.
This unique walking experience is a personal and group meeting that I must not miss !!!
